Enterprising students raise £1,600 for hospital

Tarporley Sixth Form students were set a challenge to raise as much money for the Tarporley War Memorial Hospital as possible. Competing tutor groups were each given £50 by the hospital and had to decide how best to turn that starting figure into a much larger sum. Business teacher, Mrs Senior, and Head of Sixth Form Mr Nuttall, encouraged this initiative which made Tarporley Sixth Formers both enterprising and creative in their pursuit of profit!

Six tutor groups participated, and the £300 start-up fund developed into the staggering profit and final figure of £1652.62! Students organised and managed a range of fundraising activities such as: staff social events, charity football matches, comedy concerts, a world cup raffle, cake sales, sports day refreshment stalls, car washes and many more.
