Tarporley Parish Council February newsletter

Appearance of the Village

As a Parish Council we are always striving to enhance the appearance of the Village for the enjoyment of the residents and visitors. We have recently given the go-ahead for the replacement of the some of the notice boards and benching in the centre of the Village .The Parish Council will be considering entering the Best Kept Village competition under its new format for 2018.  Please can everyone do their part to help keep the village looking clean and tidy.

Parking in the High Street

Cheshire West and Chester Council have just informed us that they are proposing to implement the 2 hour limited parking restrictions on the High Street as of April 2018. The Parish Council have been assured that this will dramatically increase the number of cars being able to park in the centre of the Village on a daily basis, thereby improving the vitality and business of the community.

Funding of the Parish Council

This is primarily by way of a portion of the Council Tax bill every household pays and is known as the Precept. It is intended to increase this sum in line with inflation i.e 3 % increase, equivalent in total to £52.08 per year for the average Band D Council Tax payer. As a Council we have increased demands on our annual expenditure and we now have additional responsibility for the ex RBL site and the development of the Brook Road sports facilities in the near future.
