A foundation set up in memory of a Tarvin student who tragically died in a road accident continues to benefit the local community nearly two years after his death.
The George Heath Foundation was set up by his family following his death on the A49 near Tarporley in March 2016
This year alone, £1,000 has been given to Tarvin Community Centre to fund outdoor areas and storage, and £600 has been donated to Tarvin Community Woodland for new educational signs at Grogans Walk.
The foundation has also funded a mud kitchen at Tarvin Pre-School Nursery, chairs for Tarporley War Memorial Hospital day room and funds to help Charlie Horton receive treatment for a brain tumour in the USA.
The funds have been raised by sponsored runs in the Chester Half Marathon, the George Heath Memorial football match and prize bingo.
