Peckforton and Beeston WI

Our Summer outing to The National Trust’s Attingham Park proved to be most enjoyable as we had brilliant sunshine all day together with a very pleasant time touring the house and grounds and having lunch either at The Hall, or at the Mytton & Mermaid pub at the end of the drive. Some of our party looked around the lovely Grade 1 listed red and grey sandstone St. Eata’s Church which stands in an idyllic spot at the rear of the pub beside the River Severn. Three of our members, Ann Wall, Judith Sherren and Joan Smith were successful in winning second prize in the Glowing Colours Handicraft Class at the Cheshire Show – congratulations to them all for some great teamwork. We are now looking forward to our August meeting and a talk entitled The Real Heir Hunter with John Cartlidge followed on 6th September by a flower arranging demonstration by Margaret Bourne.
