Young journalists have chance to shine

For the third year running, Tarporley Sixth Form magazine, ‘Term,’ has been nominated for an award at the prestigious Shine Media Awards in London. Broadsheet journalist and columnist Simon Heffer and Carey Sedgwick, Director of Casella Productions will host the awards.

Over 200 schools and colleges enter the competition so this nomination is something we are very proud of. Tarporley Sixth Form has previously been nominated for ‘Best Article,’ ‘Best Photograph,’ ‘Best Editorial Content’ and two students have won the accolade of ‘Journalists with Exceptional Promise’ resulting in a journalistic masterclass with Simon Heffer in London.

Editor Bethany Farrell said: “We are so proud of our magazine and worked tirelessly on making this edition artistic and stylised. With a central theme of equality and acceptance, our articles include topical, informative and satirical pieces. This year we have entered new categories such as best business plan so we are hoping for even more success and recognition.”
