Last weekend saw A Level Art student take part in the annual Art residential at the Conwy Centre, Anglesey.
Year 12 pupils spent the weekend working alongside other talented pupils from across the county with practising artists.
Pupils were divided into three groups with focussing on drawing, painting, sculpture and printmaking. Accompanied by Mr Bowland and Miss Jones pupils explored a range of materials and processes that really stretched their artistic talents, from wooden sculpture to oil based mono printing.
Mr Bowland said of the experience, ‘There is no greater pleasure than seeing pupils immersed in the Art world, engaged with every fibre of their being and producing work of an exceptional calibre. I could not be prouder of what our eleven artists produced this weekend and they conducted themselves with confidence and maturity.’
Of her first visit to the Art residential weekend Miss Jones added, ‘It’s a wonderful opportunity for students to see their teachers as practitioners and as teachers it really enhances our subject knowledge.’
