The title of Karen Van Hoff’s talk at the October meeting was The Knitted Necklace, a Hat and a Tiara. Karen was a self-taught artist and designer/maker and told us of all the twists and turns that her life has taken. At one time she had created stunning millinery and then went on to wedding accessories for top bridal designers. Today she knits and embroiders with fine wire and embellishes with pearls and gems. She showed us a gorgeous collection of jewellery and sold some of the pieces to our members. We have our AGM and supper in November followed in December by Keith Birkett telling us about the History of Roberts Bakery.
