Sarah Sterne has been selected onto The Young Diplomats Forum weekend in London this July.
The Tarporley High School pupil was selected from a number of applicants after local MP Antoinette Sandbach wrote to all the Secondary Schools in her constituency to highlight the available opportunity.
The forum is an intensive week long programme which looks at the role of diplomacy in the UK, Europe and Commonwealth as well as digital diplomacy.
The MP said: “I am delighted that Sarah was selected to attend, there is a very substantial agenda which will be of huge benefit to Sarah and her fellow students when she shares these experiences. I always pass on these opportunities as I want our young people locally to have every opportunity to expand their world view and to have the chance to gain unique insights into foreign policy matters.”
Sarah has also recently been elected by Cheshire schools to be one of their two members of the Youth Parliament representing the North West which gives an opportunity for students to engage with local MPs to raise matters of concern for younger people and to give them greater prominence in policy debates.
