Tarporley Neighbourhood Plan Referendum
Please Vote on Thursday 5th May 2016
The Tarporley Neighbourhood Plan was written by volunteers who live in Tarporley and who devoted thousands of hours to complete it based on your comments about future development in the village.
On Thursday 5th May 2016 there will be a referendum on the Tarporley Neighbourhood Plan at which registered voters of Tarporley can vote YES or NO to the question:
“Do you want Cheshire West and Chester Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for the Tarporley Area to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?”
Why you should vote:
The planning system helps decide what gets built, where and when. Neighbourhood plans were introduced under the Localism Act to give local communities greater influence on future development in their local area.
If a majority vote YES on 5th May, then the local planning authority must make the Neighbourhood Plan part of the statutory development plan for the area. This means that the plan will be used as a basis for making decisions on planning applications in Tarporley.
If a majority vote NO there will be no Neighbourhood Plan. There is no option to amend the Plan.

High Street Time Limited Parking Consultation
Concerns have been raised with the Parish Council about the lack of short-term parking on the High Street and the detrimental impact this is having on businesses. The Council recognises that there is unlikely to be one simple solution to the parking issue and is willing to look at a number of solutions.
The Parish Council is therefore seeking your views on the introduction of time limited parking on the High Street. A questionnaire will be delivered to all business and residential properties along the High St, and the roads off in the centre of the village. Copies will also be available to pick up from a number of shops along the High St (e.g. Old Fire Chocolate Shop) and available to download from www.tarporley.org.uk. Closing date Friday 20th May 2016.

A reduction in speed limit to 50 mph on the A51 between the A49/A51 roundabout at Tarporley to the existing 30 mph limit in Clotton has been advertised by CWaC Highways in the local papers and on site for a period of three weeks.
