Outdoor learning at Utkinton

Pupils at Utkinton St Paul’s Primary School recently opened their own community garden within the grounds of the school.
Part-funded by a grant from the Co-op group, which was organised through the school PTA, the garden will provide opportunities for unique outdoor learning opportunities for all the children, as well as offering the local community opportunity to support the school.
The garden was designed by children in Year 5/6, who were on-hand to cut the tape at the opening.
Senior teacher Gareth Coyne said: “Our school places a real focus on providing opportunities for learning outside the classroom and the garden will help bring learning to life for our children. We would like to thank the Co-op group and the school PTA for helping make this happen.”
Anyone wishing to view the garden and the school in general can so at their Open Morning on Friday 26th September from 9.30 – 11.30am.
